MECA report finds additional NOx emission reductions from new heavy-duty trucks achievable and cost-effective

The transportation sector was responsible for over 7 million tons of NO x emissions in the US in 2014, with 50% of this sector’s NO x attributed to heavy-duty on- and off-road vehicles and equipment. Taking another look at methanol as an alternative transportation fuel for the US

It is a high octane fuel with combustion characteristics that allow engines specifically designed for methanol fuel to match the best efficiencies of diesels while meeting current pollutant emission regulations. It is a safe fuel.

NRC releases second report on 21st Century Truck Partnership

The purpose of the 21CTP is to reduce fuel consumption and emissions; increase heavy-duty vehicle safety; and support research, development, and demonstration to initiate commercially viable products and systems.
