People might be bored reading about the Prius but a review on four Priuses (2004, 2005, two 2006s) that my family owns that ran a total of 913k km (570k miles) should be interesting, right? We need to go back to November 2017, to the start of the ‘Prius Revolution’ in the family. This criteria only left the Prius in play.

Required reading: Bill Moore's EVWorld review and Martin Zimmerman's LA Times piece about their test drives of the Toyota Plug-in Prius and the hydrogen fuel cell Highlander FCHV. It also spreads doubt about the enviro bona fides of plug-ins. Third-party and DIY converters can't muck with every system on a car.

Much earlier in the chapter’s history, member Otmar Ebenhoech, who would go on to create the Villa DC Motor Controller, made a strong impression on the DIY community using DC motors. Chapter member Ian Wright cofounded Tesla then later founded Wrightspeed, a company that built large hybrid trucks in San Jose.
