Study Finds Fumigation Ethanol Operation with Diesel Reduces PM and NOx, While Oxidation Catalyst Reduces Resulting Increased CO and HC

A study by researchers at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Tianjin University has found that the use of fumigation ethanol in a 4-cylinder diesel decreases NO x , smoke and particulate mass and number concentrations. In addition, the diesel fuel used in previous research has a high sulfur content of 0.25% by weight.
