Exterior Design. John: Keeping with their design philosophy, the 2022 Taos has a clean, classic look that immediately sets it out as a Volkswagen. The front end has rounded edges with LED lighting on all trim levels. The flat roof leads to LED tail lights, and twin faux exhaust ports on the lower fascia. Interior Design.

Indeed the 41st edition of the vehicle showcase is as notable for its absentees as it is for the manufacturers that are displaying at the event, with no major foreign car maker to exhibit at the show and its floor space to halve. The Ioniq line-up—similar to Honda’s Clarity—offers three electrified versions based on a single, dedicated vehicle platform. The Ioniq Electric: 180 g/mile.

At the recent SAE 2009 World Congress in Detroit, General Motors engineers presented the first front-wheel-drive (FWD) iteration of their two-mode hybrid transaxle, termed the 2MT70 ( earlier post ), scheduled for its first application in the Saturn 2009 VUE 2-Mode Hybrid light sport-utility vehicle later this year ( earlier post ).

Forcing companies to conform to standardized batteries prevents them from designing better cars. A rectangular pack design could be installed horizontally for "under-floor" mounting, or installed vertically for "tank" mounting in the trunk or under the hood. Think of a battery in laptops. not an issue.
