Or the Model 3, which at around $40,000 made EVs in reach of a much larger market of buyers versus the $80,000+ price tag on the Model S.

Conversions are mostly for the Prius, with a few for the Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner hybrid SUVs. At these prices, people are buying the "environmental feature" -- they want to be among the first owners of the worlds cleanest extended-range vehicles. They are early adopters, buying "Version 1.0" So far, most start as hybrids.

We returned back and the dealer flagged us off at around 1515 hrs - with crackered confetti! He reached the hotel around 1145 hrs. The first halt was Krishnagiri.
