Based on the Modular Electric Drive Kit (MEB), and a sibling to the I.D. The 111kWh battery in the CARGO can be charged to 80% capacity in 30 minutes with a 150 kW DC fast-charger.

Many of the first Prius hybrids that were released are still running strong on their NiMH batteries after 100,000+ miles. Wind, hydro, DC transmission lines, and smart grid electronics are also Portland strengths. However, your claims about batteries needing replacement every five years are dubious at best. — Larry 4.

Lutz, who retired earlier this year, called the car Detroits "moon shot" and an attempt to wrest the mantle of innovation back from the Japanese. The four-door sedan will deliver 40 miles on a charge; a small gasoline engine will recharge the battery as it approaches depletion, extending its range by as much as 200 miles.
