From 2025, production at all Audi plants will be carbon neutral as part of the company-wide environmental program Mission:Zero. The site switched to green power back in 2012. The electric traction motors for production are transported from Hungary to Brussels by green freight. 2018 saw the birth of the Audi e-tron.

Researchers at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), as part of the AutoNet2030 project, have developed a cooperative maneuvering control algorithm allowing automated vehicles to operate in traffic alongside manually-driven vehicles. Finally, as part of the AutoNet2030 project, they managed to get to real vehicles on the road.
