Our early testing has gone well and has demonstrated an ability to increase miles per gallon by more than 35%.

CII is a measure of the carbon emissions per amount of cargo carried per mile and targets reducing emissions operationally. While there are far fewer trucks than cars globally to convert to electric, they use much larger batteries (several hundred kWh) and accounted for 4.3 GWh annually in 2021. Electric Two-wheelers - 9 GWh.

A collaboration led by the UK’s Cranfield University has developed a retrofit plug-in hybrid conversion system for a conventional internal combustion engine vehicle. This transformed the van into a hybrid vehicle capable of achieving an all-electric range of more than 20 km (12 miles) on one charge. Earlier post.).

A so-called Q-diode regulates the current flow between the lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries. This results in an increase in range in the NEDC cycle from 190 km (118 miles) previously to now up to 300 km (186 miles). A key factor in its low emissions is the optimum conversion of the methane in the exhaust gas.

Conversions are mostly for the Prius, with a few for the Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner hybrid SUVs. At that point, we expect the aftermarket companies prices to have come down sufficiently so that their conversions will be attractive to owners of hundreds of thousands of hybrids already on the road. So far, most start as hybrids.

I've been wanting to do an EV conversion for awhile but never committed to anything. So even doubling my mileage just didn't make up for the cost of a new Prius for example vs how much it would cost to convert my current car and how quickly I could recoup that investment. The conversion I've estimated at around 6k.
