ŠKODA will stage the world premiere of the VISION E electric concept vehicle at the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show 2017 (19 – 28 April). The top speed of the two-motor, all-wheel drive concept is 180 km/h (112 mph). ŠKODA’s first purely electric series-produced vehicle will be released shortly afterwards in 2020.

In October 2019, the Chinese OEM Future Mobility Corporation (FMC) will begin production of electric vehicles under the Byton brand at its company site in Nanjing.

The Volkswagen Group and GAZ Group have extended their manufacturing agreement for Volkswagen and ŠKODA models in Russia until 2025. TDI engines for GAZ light commercial vehicles, opening up new business opportunities in international markets. Maximum annual production capacity at the Gorky Automobile Plant is around 132,000 vehicles.
