Bakken Energy to purchase synfuels plant and convert to blue hydrogen production as part of $2B hydrogen hub project

Located near Beulah, North Dakota, the Synfuels Plant will be transformed into the largest and lowest-cost, blue hydrogen production facility in the United States. The project will use advanced ATR (autothermal reforming) hydrogen production technology and capture 95% of the carbon emissions.

Airbus UpNext, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Airbus, has revealed a flight test program to study the contrails produced by a hydrogen combustion engine as part the Company’s ZEROe roadmap. Test flights are scheduled for late 2022 in North Dakota in collaboration with the University of North Dakota.
