Following initial contracts with European suppliers, the BMW Group has now concluded further 2 -reduced-steel-for-global-production-network">agreements for the supply of CO 2 -reduced steel in the US and China. This manufacturing process has significant potential for CO 2 savings, compared to coal-based steel production in a blast furnace.

The planned supply volumes will be used exclusively in vehicle production at BMW Group Plant Spartanburg in South Carolina, in body components such as the hood, for example. In the supply chain of a mid-sized fully-electric vehicle around a quarter of the CO 2 emissions are attributable to aluminum.

The building materials company has taken delivery of two all-electric iONTRON mixer trucks from Putzmeister , which will become part of the Berlin truck mixer fleet. The two vehicles are the first from the manufacturer Putzmeister within Cemex globally.

From 2022, the production of our Mercedes-Benz plants in Germany will operate CO 2 -neutral.
