Volkswagen customers in Germany ordering more diesel vehicles; share of 43% in 2018, vs. 39% in 2017

Green Car Congress

Given its high efficiency and its performance and in light of climate change, the diesel engine will remain an important technology for years to come, especially for those who travel long distances. Diesel engines emit up to 15% less CO 2 than comparable gasoline engines; the CO 2 benefits are greater for larger vehicles.

Study finds fleet switch from PFI to GDI engines will result in net reduction in global warming

Green Car Congress

A new study quantifying emissions from a fleet of gasoline direct injection (GDI) engines and port fuel injection (PFI) engines finds that the measured decrease in CO 2 emissions from GDIs is much greater than the potential climate forcing associated with higher black carbon emissions from GDI engines.

What are Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles? Will They Replace BEVs?

Get Electric Vehicle

Like BEVs, FCEVs’ exhaust produces no smog-forming or climate-changing emissions; the sole result is water. In comparison, an FCEV with a battery pack of less than 2 kWh can drive up to 650 kilometers. In comparison, there are 24,000 BEV charging stations, with 15% of those being rapid charging stations.
