The new vehicles will be equipped with compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel systems provided under an exclusive agreement with Agility Fuel Solutions, a business of Hexagon Composites. Daimler Buses North America (DBNA) unveiled the new-generation diesel Orion VII transit bus, now equipped with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) emissions technology, at the Bus & Paratransit Conference in Cleveland, Ohio. The new generation Orion VII is available with diesel, hybrid and natural gas (CNG) drives.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has purchased Gevo’s renewable Alcohol-to-Jet fuel (ATJ) ( earlier post ) for aviation use at the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, OH. Hydrogen gas, a byproduct of the aromatization reaction, is used to remove unsaturated bonds in the aliphatic material.

The US Department of Transportation (DOT) is awarding $100 million in Economic Recovery Act funding to 43 transit agencies for projects to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions from both vehicles and facilities. The Federal Transit Administration reviewed more than $2 billion in applications for these funds.

I don’t understand why all chargers won’t accept credit cards just as they do at gas stations. Thanks to phone apps, I was able to find chargers at several pubs and a few hotels as well getting quick charges at several major gas stations. Since I’m a dual citizen with a UK address, it was not a problem, just an unnecessary hassle.

Scottish gas reforming company Gas2 has secured £5.5 million) of funding to further the development of the next generation of gas-to-liquids (GTL) technology including the construction of a pilot reactor plant. Step 1 produces syngas (hydrogen and carbon monoxide) in 2 stages from a combination of natural gas and oxygen.
