SoCalGas contributing $500K to Sierra Northern Railway-led hydrogen fuel-cell switcher locomotive project

Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) announced it will be working together with Sierra Northern Railway, Gas Technology Institute (GTI), and other technical experts to develop and test a zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell engine for a switcher locomotive. Alstom to test its hydrogen fuel cell train in the Netherlands; first pilot project outside Germany

Alstom and the Province of Groningen, local operator Arriva, the Dutch railway infrastructure manager ProRail and the energy company Engie have signed plans for a pilot project to test the Coradia iLint, a passenger train powered by hydrogen fuel cells ( earlier post ), for the first time in the Netherlands.
