EPA’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality (OTAQ) is soliciting proposals ( EPA-OAR-OTAQ-14-02 ) that achieve significant reductions in diesel emissions in terms of tons of pollution produced by diesel engines and diesel emissions exposure, from fleets operating at marine and inland water ports.

Eligible diesel vehicles, engines and equipment may include drayage trucks; marine engines; locomotives and non-road engines; and equipment or vehicles used in the handling of cargo at a marine or inland water port. EPA will fund: Verified Exhaust Control Technologies: up to 100% of the cost of eligible verified exhaust control technologies.

EcoDual , LLC, a provider of dual fuel natural gas conversion systems for heavy-duty diesel trucks, has achieved US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) compliance for installing its systems on 2004 to 2009 Cummins ISX engines. The EcoDual system achieved its EPA compliance under this rule.

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to make it easier for manufacturers to gain approval to sell fuel conversion systems. The proposed rule would cover conversions of light-duty vehicles and heavy-duty highway vehicles and engines, and would apply to all clean alternative fuels. Vehicle/Engine Age.

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) awarded $516,637 in clean diesel grants to four organizations. Recent monitoring indicates these counties’ particulate matter levels are meeting the standards, but continuous compliance must occur before EPA will grant an attainment designation.

The EPA’s “Clean Bus Program” will be spending $1 billion in the 2023 fiscal year to help schools buy electric buses and other cleaner alternatives. The EPA is one of numerous agencies working on upgrading American public vehicle fleets. Schools have responded positively to the EPA program.
