The US Department of Energy has selected 13 projects for investment of up to $62 million over five years to research, develop, and demonstrate Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) systems capable of providing low-cost electrical power. The thirteen award selections announced today fall into two areas: Concentrating Solar Power Systems Studies.

This is a pass fail class and you won’t like the consequences of getting an F. PLUG IN – make your next car a plug in electric car and plug it into the new solar panels you need to get. So far GM, Toyota, Nissan, VW, Mitsubishi, have all announced plug in vehicles they will have for sale in 2010. That’s 18 months away.

The energy stored within hydrogen has been imparted from electrical energy through the electrolytic hydrogen production process or more likely in the refinement of fossil fuels such as coal seam (methane) gas – both are energy intensive processes in themselves. . So why haven’t FCEV becoming as prolific as other electric cars?

Also maintenance on these (no oil changes to speak of) etc will cost much less than an internal combution propelled car. With this price I can buy a nice used C200 class Mercedes and still have money to afford Gas……uuuuuugh. Learn your facts before you post please. — Volt Enthusiast 7.
