The Prius Prime becomes Toyota’s leader with a plug. Toyota’s Prius Prime and RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrids are distinguished from the standard Prius and RAV4 and seem to have found a sales niche. The Swedes (with some Chinese help) are bringing more EVs.

Chinese automaker BYD may have been founded in 2003, but it wasn’t until 2008 that it garnered mainstream attention when Berkshire Hathaway, led by Warren Buffet, bought a 10 per cent stake in its parent company.

The battery-powered cars that Chinese companies are showing are intended to be much less expensive than those planned by big foreign companies. Chinese auto makers also showed other types of "new energy" vehicles, including regular gasoline-electric hybrids to compete with Toyota Motor Corp.s Prius hybrid.

They were busy promoting their hybrid cars and their favorite distraction tactic - “Hydrogen Cars” While Toyota did very well with the Prius hybrid car, hedging their bets on hybrid cars in the 2020s seems to me that they seem to still live in the 90s. And I have a feeling that a large Chinese car company will acquire them.
