They come out of the same Chinese factory and share a familiar family resemblance, the Y trading some low-slung sportiness for more high-riding visibility and access. There are also aftermarket companies (such as EV Stealth Solutions) working on a tow kit for the Model Y. Between them it means the 3 will travel further between charges.
