Cheap to run but expensive to buy, they offer theprospect of low or zero carbon emissions, but manufacturers won’t sell themunless motorists want to buy them – and motorists won’t buy unless the priceis right and there are enough places to charge the batteries. These both cost much less than lithium cells.

To deal with this major special waste problem has to my knowledge never ever been brought to the attention of the readers of any paper around the world. Batteries are highly special toxic waste and cannot be dropped on the average dump site, so who is going to pay to get rid of this problem?

The two key issues were: Reductions in Emissions—agreeing how much CO 2 and GHGs each developed country should be allowed to produce and how much major developing countries, such as China and India, should aim at reducing the growth in their emissions; and. Do we really want to be remembered as the generation that wasted another decade?
