A question about bidirectional charging was also asked. Elon Musk noted that bidirectional charging is not that useful since Powerwall is better. This means that the total cost of ownership of the next-generation platform would also be lower than the company’s current vehicles today. That’s pretty incredible.

The vehicles run on lithium ion batteries which, using specialist, high-power charging equipment, can be can be fast charged in less than fifteen minutes. When theyre ready, they will be sold to companies who want to be seen promoting green technology. The cost of ownership for EVs is still quite high.

Finally, in a first-of-its-kind partnership in the United States, Mitsubishi announced a strategic alliance with Oregon to develop an electric car charging infrastructure in the state. The big problems now is how to create a battery that can charge rapidly and infrastructure to charge them. If you charge with solar, is way less.
