Steel is responsible for around 7% of man-made greenhouse gas emissions every year and is one of the world’s most polluting industries. Government and corporate net-zero commitments are pushing the steel industry to cancel out its emissions by 2050. The steel industry cannot afford to wait for the 2040s to start its transition.

The unit cost of Gas in the UK is 4 times the price of US Gas. – Why, simple the US embraced Fracking to produce bountifully supplies of cheap gas.

Nigeria or Algeria cannot do the same for their oil industry. Petro-states are compensated to transition smoothly to a sustainable economy, avoiding a last-ditch attempt to flood the world with cheap oil and gas. Russia might align with China. Saudi Arabia and Kuwait might, and should be encouraged to do so.
