Nissan is leading a consortium which aims to establish a network of rapid chargers for electric vehicles running the full length and breadth of the United Kingdom and Ireland. Installation of the rapid chargers is due to be completed by the end of 2014.

The Irish Government; the ESB, Ireland’s largest electricity utility; and the Renault-Nissan Alliance announced a comprehensive partnership to position Ireland as a European leader in electric transport. Under the agreement, ESB will roll out 3,500 charge points nationwide by December 2011. for a pilot project in Ireland.
