UK-based Connected Energy and Groupe Renault have installed two quick-charge stations based on Connected Energy’s E-STOR energy storage technology on highways in Belgium and Germany. With the E-STOR system, the batteries are recharged at low power, and the stored energy is then released at high power.

Toyota Motorsport GmbH’s (TMG) TMG EV P002 ( earlier post ) set a new electric record on the 20.8km Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit in Germany. As with the Pikes Peak success, TMG’s latest electric milestone used novel off-board battery-to-battery charging technology. Maximum DC output to the vehicle being charged is 25 kW, 400 VDC.
