The primary goal is to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and, ultimately, contribute to mitigating the effects of climate change on the planet. For the transportation sector, electrification means replacing fossil fuels with electricity as the means of powering light-duty vehicles, medium- and heavy-duty trucks, and buses.

It enables electric cars to be charged with direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) using the standard Combo 2 connector. The majority of stations currently available on the market support DC charging with 50 kW. An AC/DC converter inverts the current, which is then fed into the high-voltage electrical system.

So is the management in Washinton DC. Clearly GM knows where its future is -- and it aint Flint.
