Ive noticed that youll hear the sound of an oncoming cars rolling tires before you hear the sound of its engine. Even if I couldnt see, Id be able to hear the sound of the tires well before that car got to me. In that case, the sound of the tires might not audible, but they wouldnt be audible anyway.
