Following the introduction of the XC40 Recharge and now the C40 Recharge, Volvo Cars will roll out several additional electric models in coming years. The propulsion system consists of twin electric motors, one on the front and one on the rear axle, powered by a 78 kWh battery that can be fast-charged to 80% in about 40 minutes. It offers an anticipated range of around 420 km (261 miles), which is expected to improve over time via over-the-air software updates.

Polestar, the electric performance car brand jointly owned by Volvo Car Group and Zhejiang Geely Holding, unveiled the Polestar 2 electric fastback in an online reveal from Polestar’s headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden. Polestar 2 will make its first public appearance at the Geneva International Motor Show next week.

The Polestar 2 is the brand’s first fully electric vehicle after the Polestar 1, a hybrid with up to 78 miles of electric range.

The 111 hp (83 kW) electric motor from BRUSA that will power the C30 Electric delivers an instant torque of 220 N·m (162 lb-ft) leading to an acceleration from 0 to 50 km/h (31 mph) in 4 seconds and to 100 km/h in under 11 seconds. The car has a top speed of 130 km/h (80 mph).
