Harley-Davidson, the legendary and revered American manufacturer of motorcycles, announced that it is establishing LiveWire as a separate electric motorcycle brand on July 8,2021, just in time for the first of nine outdoor International Motorcycle Shows. Not an H or D in sight.

They haven’t, and GM is clearly struggling to overcome a host of startup production problems with its Ultium vehicles—sales of which have remained far, far below the company’s own goals. Now we’ve driven both.

The Karma, a luxury four-passenger sedan, can be recharged by plugging it in; it can then be driven on power from a battery alone for 50 miles.
