Participant-specific pollutant concentrations averaged over the years 2000–10 ranged from 9.2–22.6 The study is published in The Lancet. and NO x between 1999 and 2012.

NASA satellite images highlight US air quality improvement with reduction of NO2

New NASA satellite images released this week demonstrate the reduction of air pollution across the US. Nitrogen dioxide is one of the six common pollutants regulated by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to protect human health. It’s also a good proxy for the presence of air pollution in general.

Univ. of Delaware and state partner on EV charging station project to support longer electric trips

The researchers will monitor station usage and track reductions in pollution and carbon dioxide emissions. The new stations will not be more than 50 miles apart, which is the battery range for the least expensive electric vehicle models today. With a budget of $80,000, the entire project costs less than one long-range electric vehicle.

DISCOVER-AQ project to begin flights to enhance measurement of ground-level air-quality from space

This summer two NASA research airplanes will fly over the Baltimore-Washington region and northeast Maryland as part of a mission to enhance the capability of satellites to measure ground-level air quality from space. The flights will be supported by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and will aid EPA in monitoring pollutants.
