The reason for this is a lack of charging infrastructure and lower price premium over an EV. Hybrids which are seen as a strong alternative to diesel not only give a higher fuel efficiency than petrol, but also give the experience of an EV — without any anxiety of range, given the penetration of charging infrastructure.
