In short, we had a great final shoot in Detroit. Robotic body and frame welding, magnetic delivery systems for motor/engine marriage to the carriage, dashboard installation by hand, battery pack installation by dolly, tires being torqued into position by wrench jockeys… it was a glorious sight. 1 Cadillac SRX to every 6 Volts.

Chryslers first electric car, set to be introduced late next year around the same time as General Motors Chevrolet Volt, will be a sports car with a zero-to-60 time of under five seconds and a top speed of 120 miles per hour. Power will come from a 200 kilowatt, or 268 horsepower, electric motor.

Thats the beauty of the 2010 Aptera 2e electric vehicle — you can speed away from the scene and the cops wont know it, with just a quiet hum as the electric motor winds up and a feeling of satisfaction as the torque presses you deep into the seatback. But dont call the Aptera a car. Piloting PP4 is merely an interesting experience.
