Cadillac’s Subcompact SUV The 2024 Cadillac XT4 is smack dab in the heat of the subcompact premium/luxury SUV category. It is the third best-selling SUV for Cadillac, coming in behind the larger Escalade and XT5, but ahead of the XT6 and Lyriq EV. All of them outsell the Cadillac luxury sedans. mpg, same as the EPA.

No one, but no one, needs a 2023 Cadillac Escalade V-Series. Fuel economy is a predictably dismal 11 mpg city/16 mpg highway/13 mpg combined. Sure, some folks can make a reasonable argument for needing a large SUV for towing or hauling people and stuff. Not for the V. But I gotta admit, I kinda want one.

Clean Fleet Report is cautious when reading auto manufacturer press releases, but in this case Genesis is on to something. The mpg ratings are for city/highway/combined. RWD we drove 225 miles through Southern California, averaging 24 mpg. Expressively Designed Premium Sedan. RWD 21/31/24. AWD 20/29/23. RWD 18/27/21.

In 240 miles driving around Southern California we averaged 23 mpg, but in a 100-mile run with the adaptive cruise control set at 65 mph, we averaged 31.2 mpg, exceeding the EPA figure.
