CRC study finds some adverse results from use of mid-level ethanol blends in MY 2001-2009 engines; DOE and ethanol industry say study significantly flawed

In response, the US Department of Energy (DOE) and the Renewable Fuels Association charged that the study was fundamentally flawed. The study claims mechanical damage and suggests degraded engine performance, emissions and durability on conventional vehicles from the use of E15 or E20 fuel.
