Air pollution from sources such as transport and agriculture is still being emitted above legal limits in 10 European Union (EU) Member States according to new data published by the European Environment Agency (EEA). The EU-28 as a whole did not exceed its aggregated emission ceilings for any of the four air pollutants in 2014.

Updated emission estimates for the EU for 2010 show just 14 Member States expect to meet their respective 2010 air pollutant limits set under the EU National Emission Ceilings Directive (NEC Directive), according to the European Environment Agency (EEA). The progress toward meeting ceilings for the other pollutants remains largely on track.
