In addition to charging station deployment, AI is also being used for electricity grid management. AI, of course, stands for artificial intelligence and you know EV as our favorite little acronym for electric vehicles.

If they contract with Plug In America to consult, we’d sell a million of them:~). The Volt contract is important because the batteries are the most important element of the car and their reliability will make or break GM’s gamble to be the first company to put a plug-in — or grid-rechargeable — hybrid into the market.

Vehicle to Grid (V2G) technology is a bi-directional electric grid interface that allows a plug-in to take energy from the grid or put it back on the grid. Smart Grid City will use a realtime high-speed two-way communication throughout the distribution grid. Smart meters and substations will be integral.

For the standard version, Tesla plans to use a battery that can recharge at a typical 220V outlet in about four hours.
