Norway-based Eltek Valere will deliver battery chargers to THINK City. The contract is the first result of Eltek Valere’s growth initiative for electric vehicle technologies, and shows new areas of application for the company’s core competencies. The THINK City is being produced in Valmet, Finland, and now is ready for orders.

Electric car maker THINK has completed a US$40 million equity increase to support further product development and planned expansion into North American markets. With the new equity, THINK says it is now fully funded and expects to become cash-flow positive in 2011. This is a seminal event for THINK.

In conjunction with the Memorandum, the General Services Administration (GSA) launched a pilot project to incorporate electric vehicles and technologies into the Federal fleet. GSA announced its initial purchase of more than 100 electric vehicles for a vehicle pilot. These vehicles will be eligible for the initial purchase.

My first electric car was a Think City, produced when the company was owned by Ford. This "smarter than Smart" city car was a revelation to me when I leased it in 2001. Toyota, Honda and GM were dismantling their electric efforts, but Ford seemed to be making a last stab at a viable electric program called Think Mobility.

Out in the desert as part of Burning Man , our encampment, Snow Koan Solar, is setting up a solar photovoltaic EV Charging Station (at 7:30 and Desert) for electric scooters, golf carts, sofas and barstools.
