Ford opens E-Transit Registration site for commercial customers; new pricing

Along with the registration site, the E-Transit electric vans have updated pricing, with a targeted starting MSRP of $43,295 for the cutaway—lower than originally announced—to $52,690 for the high-roof extended-wheelbase cargo van. It will be built alongside the Transit at Ford’s Kansas City Assembly Plant in Claycomo, Missouri.

Retail sales grew 7%, while fleet sales were up 1%—the company’s best April retail sales in nine years. This included record sales of the all-new Edge, up 78%, and Escape up 5%. Sales of the lower volume Ford Focus electric did not suffer as much, but still posted a 5% decline from January-April 2015, from 522 to 494 units.
