With the Lux priced at $66,490 and the Ultra at $73,990 drive-away, the Tank 500 is certainly affordable by the standards of the class and it also gets plenty of gear. The e-motor relies on a 1.76kWh lithium-ion battery for juice. The 500 is the second Tank to launch here after the smaller 300, which also comes as a hybrid.

The new Pedego Moto ($3,995) is a moped-style e-bike of similar appearance to bikes like the Juiced Scorpion and other popular step-through moped e-bikes. But the downside here is the price, since on a dollar-per-dollar basis, you can easily find more affordable alternatives in the oversaturated e-bike market.

We don’t know who these people are, but they are definitely scared and afraid to change. All of this definitely feels orchestrated. By 2030, EV’s will become even more affordable as battery production scales up. The Tesla Cybertruck has more than 1.3 million pre-orders. The choice is easy. EV's are more efficient.

Posted by: Green Chambers | Apr 14, 2009 12:25:03 AM Battery tech is still not advanced or reliable enough for an affordable pure EV, hydrogen fuel cells like in the FCX Clarity may be the clean future, but there are too many technical and infrastructure hurdles to overcome.
