The electric car pricing war is well and truly underway! The GWM Ora is now clearly the cheapest and most affordable new electric car sold in Australia thanks to $35,990 drive-away pricing announced this morning for the Standard Range model. MG4 was the price leader before the GWM Ora undercut it by $4000.

Ford is moving inventory after slashing prices by up to $8,100 on its best-selling electric SUV, the Mustang Mach-E , last month. A recent Cloud Theory report reveals that the price cuts are working as buyers look for more affordable EVs. Even with the price cuts, the Mach-E’s turn rate reached 33%. billion last year.

The GWM Ora has gone on sale in Australia priced from $44,490 drive-away – but only in the Northern Territory. GWM set a price of $43,990 before on-road costs for its new Ora five-door electric hatchback, which in its homeland of China is known as the Good Cat and in Europe is called the Funky Cat.
