These women also decided that the Volvo EX30 was the “Best Family Car,” the BMW 5 Series served as the “Best Large Car”, and that the Volkswagen Amarok ended up being the “Best 4x4 or Pick-up.”

Volkswagen is aiming to dominate the market for green cars as it looks launch a new generation of hybrid and electric cars, the company announced. The firm’s chief executive said yesterday (July 19) that he expects that low carbon cars will account for three per cent of the carmaker’s sales by 2018.

At the ceremonial launching of Germany’s “National Electric Mobility Platform” (NEMP) in Berlin, Volkswagen presented the Golf blue-e-motion electric vehicle concept to German Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel.
