The three main NOx control technologies currently on the market are exhaust gas recirculation (EGR); lean-burn NO x traps (LNT); and selective catalytic reduction (SCR). EGR systems recirculate a portion of exhaust gas to the combustion chamber, lowering the combustion temperature and the production of engine-out NO x.
