The US Environmental Agency (EPA) has granted California’s waiver request enabling the state to enforce its greenhouse gas emissions standards (Pavley I) for new motor vehicles, beginning with the current model year. California requested from EPA the waiver required for implementation of the Pavley regulations in December 2005.

Breyer of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California has granted preliminary approval of the settlement agreement reached on 28 June with private plaintiffs represented by the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee (PSC) to resolve civil claims regarding eligible Volkswagen and Audi 2.0L Judge Charles R. The US state of California has been granted a waiver request enabling it to enforce its own greenhouse gas emissions standard for new cars starting with the current model year. The end point of the two standards in 2016 is roughly the same - the MY2016 new vehicle fleet is approximately 243g/CO2 per mile, around 36.6mpg.

As result, emissions of NO x increased by a factor of 10 to 40 times above EPA-compliant levels in the US, depending on the the of drive cycle. First, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized the Renewable Fuel Standard Program (RFS2) rule to implement the long-term renewable fuels standard of 36 billion gallons by 2022 established by Congress and also issued the targets for 2010. And we want to get up 10 commercial demonstration projects, get those up and running by 2016.
