EPA awards SwRI $25M contract for emissions testing, analytical services for variety of propulsion systems

Key areas of SwRI support include developing test procedures and equipment for regulated and unregulated emissions in light- and heavy-duty vehicles and components as well as for marine, railway, aircraft, small engine and other non-highway propulsion systems. In 2015, SwRI won a similar five-year, $20-million contract.

Farm-to-Fleet venture to make drop-in biofuel blends part of regular operational fuel use by US military

The announcement incorporates the acquisition of biofuel blends into regular Department of Defense (DOD) domestic solicitations for jet engine and marine diesel fuels. The Navy will seek to purchase JP-5 and F-76 advanced drop-in biofuels blended from 10 to 50 percent with conventional fuels.

Volkswagen Group opts for LNG-fueled car carriers

From 2019, Volkswagen Group Logistics will use two LNG-powered charter vessels from Siem Car Carriers AS, making it one of the first automakers to opt for low-emission LNG-powered vessels for the marine transport of vehicles.
