Cheapest is a 2011 version with 48,800km, but the owner admits battery health is close to 50 per cent, its dash shows a range of 90km and real world range is closer to 68km. But there are some. Broadly, Navigant expects expansion in both the higher end of the market (thereby putting competitive pressure on Tesla Motors), as Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Mercedes, Saab, and Volvo introduce their first plug-in cars. Tesla Motors will have a bumpy year. Selling in new markets will also be a test for Tesla.

Good examples of all-new electric cars are the Nissan Leaf battery-electric and the Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid , which both debuted in 2010 as 2011 models. GM, shifting focus to pure EVs, built the last Volt on February 19, 2019. Tesla is the poster child for this option, and so far, it’s working. Create a New EV Company.

Per the IRS: Beginning January 1, 2023, if you buy a qualified previously owned electric vehicle (EV) or fuel cell vehicle (FCV) from a licensed dealer for $25,000 or less, you may be eligible for a previously owned clean vehicle tax credit under Internal Revenue Code Section 25E. As long as they fit certain criteria.
