At the North American International Auto Show in January 2009, Chrysler had introduced two new EV concepts and updates on three earlier EV concepts developed by the ENVI group. In April 2009, Chrysler unveiled four all-electric Chrysler Town & Country minivan concepts to the US Postal Service (USPS) in Washington, DC.

Duke Energy and FPL Group will begin this transition in the coming years with the goal that 100% of all new fleet vehicles will be plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) by 2020. 2010, when both companies will begin tracking their commitment. The initiative will begin 1 Jan.

Chrysler is already relying heavily on its award-winning Pentastar V-6 gasoline engine, which features a light-weight aluminum block with variable valve timing that improves fuel efficiency over its pre-2010 predecessor engines. Our engine mix is intentionally moving toward smaller, 4-cylinder engines.

Ignoring the briefly popular commercial electrics around at the turn of the last century, EVs have been experimental concepts or limited edition runs until relatively recently. Good examples of all-new electric cars are the Nissan Leaf battery-electric and the Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid , which both debuted in 2010 as 2011 models.
