Estrema Fulminea – solid state batteries are the point of difference for supercar newcomer Estrema, which promises to hit 320km/h in less than 10 seconds. In the Aluminum the most challenging part is going to be the battery cover, which is going to have fins. Oben is assembling their own battery packs - and it was heartening to know that they are taking the LFP route, albeit with cylindrical cells. Go to petrol pump owners and find out who are people who are big time consumers.

GM has announced plans for public sales in 2010, and almost every carmaker now says it will sell PHEVs or highway-speed battery electric vehicles (BEVs) sometime after 2010. In late 2008, BYD started selling the first production PHEV in China. Batteries not ready. First Escape PHEV delivered to SCE Nov 2007; 20 in 2008-2009.

The four-door sedan will deliver 40 miles on a charge; a small gasoline engine will recharge the battery as it approaches depletion, extending its range by as much as 200 miles.
