Neste Oil has successfully started up Europe’s largest renewable diesel plant in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Production of NExBTL renewable diesel at the new plant—the company’s fourth—will be ramped up on a phased basis. The plant was completed on-schedule and on-budget.

Neste Oil celebrated the grand opening of its ISCC-certified renewable diesel plant in Singapore. The start-up of the Singapore plant, which produces NExBTL renewable diesel, took place in November 2010; production at the world’s largest renewable diesel plant has run smoothly since.

Neste Oil has started up the world’s largest renewable diesel plant in Singapore. Production of NExBTL renewable diesel ( earlier post ) will be ramped up on a phased basis. Neste Oil’s NExBTL renewable diesel is a premium fuel that is compatible with all diesel engines and existing fuel distribution systems.

UPS announced agreements for up to 46 million gallons of renewable diesel over the next three years, constituting a 15-fold increase over prior contracts and making UPS one of the largest users of renewable diesel in the world. Neste, headquartered in Espoo, Finland, is the world’s largest producer of renewable diesel.

Neste Oil celebrated the grand opening of its NExBTL renewable diesel refinery in the Port of Rotterdam. The refinery has an annual production capacity of 800,000 metric tons or 1 billion liters (264 million gallons US) of renewable diesel and cost around €670 million (US$873 million) to build.

Neste Oil has increased its capacity to produce NExBTL renewable diesel following the start-up of a second dedicated NExBTL plant at the company’s main refinery at Porvoo, Finland.
