The 700-bar high-pressure hydrogen tanks, located under the floor of the vehicle between the two axles, store 7.05 The electricity produced by the fuel stack is then stored in a compact 24 kW lithium-polymer battery pack, with the inverter converting the energy to an alternating current to power the 100 kW electric motor.

In the wake of the 1977 Tenerife airport disaster (583 killed in a post-crash fireball), researchers looked into the possibility of using ultralong, associative polymers as a fuel additive to increase the drop diameter in the post-impact mist, thereby limiting the event to a relatively cool, short-lived fire.

Their outer skin is made from aluminum-coated polymer and this in turn brings weight advantages. While they store a high amount of energy compared to the other designs, their power output is comparatively low. Because the exhaust system transports only water, it can be made of lightweight polymer.

Power is supplied to the propeller through 20 kW hydrogen fuel cells; gaseous hydrogen is stored at 350 bar onboard. The airplane also has a second source of energy that consists of a set of 20 kW lithium polymer batteries which are able to guarantee alternative or supplementary power during take off and initial climbing.
