2000 miles and counting

Porsche 914 EV Conversion

I broke 2000 miles with the 914 EV this week. If the 12V battery is dead, you need a small 12V battery (9V would probably work) to activate the DC-DC converter relay to bootstrap the 12V charging process. The car has been running smoothly with no complaints. I'm getting more involved with the OEVA club.

2023 BMW iX1 review: How does this premium electric SUV stack up against Tesla, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo in Australia?

These items were standard when the iX1 was first announced in Australia last November, but that changed in March at the same time as the price was bumped up $2000. iX1 tyres are not run-flats and there is no spare, only a repair kit and tyre pressure monitoring. Both are on the local ADR cycle. That’s progress folks.

That makes it $2000 more expensive than the equivalent XC40 EV – and it also means it misses out on most EV rebates around the country (although NSW buyers won’t pay stamp duty). As with the XC40, the C40 has some underfloor boot storage (there’s a tyre repair kit in lieu of a spare wheel) and a small binnacle under the bonnet.
