Porsche 914 EV Conversion

I broke 2000 miles with the 914 EV this week. If the 12V battery is dead, you need a small 12V battery (9V would probably work) to activate the DC-DC converter relay to bootstrap the 12V charging process. The car has been running smoothly with no complaints. I'm getting more involved with the OEVA club.

From about $69,000 drive-away – $2000 more than our e-2008 as tested – the RWD version has 455km range, 194kW/340Nm, 170kW maximum charging, and mega cabin space for families. Day 6 – DC public charging 2024 Peugeot e-2008 GT at a 50kW DC fast charger. I seize the opportunity for some public DC charging.

Step up to the Ora Extended Range and it’s a hefty $6000 leap (that model only received a $2000 reduction as part of the recent price reductions) to make it $45,990 plus on-roads. Faster DC charging yields a 10-80 percent charge in 41 minutes for the 48kWh battery and 50 minutes for the 63kWh battery.

These items were standard when the iX1 was first announced in Australia last November, but that changed in March at the same time as the price was bumped up $2000. iX1 tyres are not run-flats and there is no spare, only a repair kit and tyre pressure monitoring. Both are on the local ADR cycle. That’s progress folks.

That makes it $2000 more expensive than the equivalent XC40 EV – and it also means it misses out on most EV rebates around the country (although NSW buyers won’t pay stamp duty). As with the XC40, the C40 has some underfloor boot storage (there’s a tyre repair kit in lieu of a spare wheel) and a small binnacle under the bonnet.

He went on to own a Rover 2000, which was the most handsome looking car of its time. In the early 2000s he picked up his first electric car - the Revai. The NMC cells usually show a life of 2000 cycles in the lab, compared to the 4000 of LFP. The womenfolk created some sewing kits and embroidery frames. So was his wife.

If you build a car as a "kit car" with no real factory, then yes, it will never be an economic success. So is the management in Washinton DC.
