The Government intends to introduce legislation to underpin the carbon pricing mechanism into Parliament in the second half of 2011. But we have now had the debate, 2011 is the year we decide that as a nation we want a clean energy future. a year in real terms. Since 2000, the global rate of decarbonization has averaged 0.8%; from 2010 to 2011, global carbon intensity fell by just 0.7%. The new reality is a much more challenging future in terms of planning, financing and predictability. Because of this slow start, global carbon intensity now needs to be cut by an average of 5.1%

How the money would be distributed is yet to be decided but Hoon said it would be available only to people buying cars that ran entirely, or for the vast majority of their time, on electricity. Teslas new Model S will be pure EV and will get 160 miles per charge for $49,900 and for a bit more $$ you can get the 230 or 300 mile battery options. Oh, and it looks wayyyyy cooler than the Volt. You guys go ahead and buy your 40 mile per charge GM golf cart.
