The US Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Reducing EMbodied-Energy and Decreasing Emissions (REMADE) Manufacturing Institute announced approximately $35 million to support research and development (R&D) that will enable US manufacturers to increase the recovery, recycling, reuse, and remanufacturing of plastics, metals, electronic waste, and fibers.

In some areas where wind and hydropower is wasted at night, the rate can be as low as 2-3 cents per kWh. As PHEVs start to enter the marketplace, well see increasing support from electric utilities, as theyll offer reduced nighttime rates to incentivize off-peak charging. Thats 20-25 cents a gallon. Why Pay More for a PHEV?

Nuclear waste is a problem much harder to solve than CO2, and dams have quite an impact in the environment. Saving lives through nuclear power. :p p Neutral Elora HRanma @ Apr 20th 2009 8:14AM @catachip: I wouldnt say that hydroelectric or nuclear plants produce 0 emissions. Simply, those are not the main concern for campaigners right now.
